We are …
Long Way Home
… an independent folk duo from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. We met through our shared passion for music, and have developed a love for story-telling and connecting with people through this beautiful art medium.
Having grown up by the ocean on the Sunshine Coast, Will Outridge and Savanah Murphy now live in the heart of the Blackall Range, where they live a quiet life together. This has made for a unique blend of influences in their songwriting, as they mix the freedom-loving, youthful, exuberant coastal vibrancy that they grew up with with a more introspective, contemplative and peaceful sense that they have adopted since living in the hinterland.
Just a few short months after announcing their project, Long Way Home have supported several touring artists in its short lifespan, including sold out shows with Kim Churchill, and spots alongside fellow local artists. They bring an easy-going, welcoming honesty to their performances, warmly engaging with audience members as they share their stories and music.
The essence of their sincere lyricism is brought to life by rich, dynamic vocals, bright, intricate acoustic guitar riffs, dramatic but light-hearted piano and a driving kick drum, which come together to connect with the audience, tugging at heart strings or inviting feet to tap and hands to clap.
